One more thing

Sweet quote from the film Eastern Rises.

If you come to a strange land
Bow Down

If this place is outlandish
Bow Down

If the day is all strangeness
Submit

You are  indefinitely more strange

Back from nowhere

So It has been a long time since I posted anything to this thing.  I am sorry.  I am going to start putting my thoughts down here more as I need a place to mull things over and help me to remember them.

As some may know I am going through a bit of a crisis these days.  I won’t get into the details here just yet but, maybe one day I will.  You may be keen enough to figure out what is happening or maybe get an idea of what is going on as you read on.

These posts may sound like a whole lot of nothing.  One incoherent thought to another.  Sorry, but this is really for me.

It is Tuesday 2056 Nov 16, 2010. I worked my usual shift the last 48 hours and came home this morning.  The past two days I have been on the beginning end of a nasty cold.  Head, throat, sinus, cough, and chills.  Last night, the powers that be, decided it was time to punish me for whatever I have done in a prior life.  Calls came in a 12, 2, 4, 5, and 6 am.  Tot op it off I was trying to get some rest because my head cold was turning into a chest cold and I couldn’t breath.  I finally left the station around 830 this morning on my GS.

The GS, ahhh, the GS.  God I love that thing. It’s a BMW F800GS dual sport bike.  Basically it’s an adventure touring motorcycle.  Capable of handling some light off road trails.

I’ve just watched Eastern Rises. It’s a fly fishing movie about the Russian back country where monster trout live.  A group of guys go out there in an old decommissioned Soviet helicopter  to fish virgin waters.  The cinematography is incredible as is the soundtrack.

I’ve just taken some NyQuil and am starting to feel the effects.  Could really use a drink right now. Not water, but the kind of drink that fucks you up and makes you feel good regardless of whats going on in life.  Ohhhhh do I have some stuff going on in life…  My buddy from work drinks what he calls “brown water.”  I’ve grown to like this brown water.  No it’s not some code for nasty coliform water.  Rather, he’s talking about whiskey.  Whiskey over rocks to be specific.  Full strength, nothing to dilute and ruin it.  And having it over rocks facilitates the slow enjoyment of it.  That’s to be read as, “sipping it” rather than shooting it in an effort to just choke it down.

Tomorrow I think I will ride the GS and ponder my life. I would like to ride the mountain bike, but I fear my cold will be too much for me to start exerting myself this early in recovery.  Not even sure if I’m on that side of the slope of this illness.

Fading quick. Fly fishing, adventure touring, patagonia, … good night.
